What to check before sharing inventory photos and locations

The active link lets anyone who has it view the shared content. Check what its recipient needs to see.

Before sharing your inventory, open your page and review the photos, notes, collection point and delivery point. The recipient needs to understand the move; they do not need to see personal information accidentally left in a photo or description.

Review the information visible in photos

Check for documents on a table, screens left on, labels containing personal data and people in the scene. If they do not provide information about the items, use another image that does not show them. An overview photo helps explain a group, but a closer image can describe an item without showing the whole home.

In notes, avoid access codes, passwords or instructions you do not want circulated with the link. You can state that access arrangements will be confirmed later through the agreed channel. Describe delicate items without adding unnecessary details about their value or who lives in the home.

Points and map

The page lets you control the visibility of collection and delivery points and the shared map. Review these options and save changes before copying the link. If you hide a location, check the content that remains visible to see whether the recipient can understand the information you do want to communicate.

You can deactivate the link when you no longer need it. This prevents the page from being opened through that link, but does not remove screenshots, messages or copies someone made earlier. If you correct important information while the link remains active, save the change and tell the person who needs to review it. Sharing the inventory does not submit a quote request.
